We are constantly reviewing our appointments system to try and ensure that supply meets demand.

In general, 60% of our appointments can be booked in advance and 40% are “on the day”.

The reason we hold so many “on the day” appointments” is that research carried out by the practice has shown that this number of appointments is needed for patients who feel they need to be seen on the day that they contact us. We also have made provision for patients to be able to access a clinician if urgently required and the days appointments are already filled. You may not be able to consult with your clinician of choice but you will be able to access a clinician if required.

We only open appointments for booking 2 weeks in advance. This has reduced our failure to attend rate and means that the appointment system is more flexible
